Gmail

Gmail workflow automation that does not send on its own

Connect the Google account the crew should use. It can search the mailbox, create a draft, and send only after a person approves that step.

Actions in the product

The Gmail connector exposes three actions. A new-email trigger can start a crew when mail arrives.

  • Read messages: a Gmail search, from 1 to 20 messages, newest first. The default search is the inbox.
  • Draft reply: creates a draft, including a reply when you pass a message id. Nothing is sent.
  • Send email: sends from the connected account, or replies on a thread. This is an external action, so the run waits for approval.

Example

Search for unread mail newer than two days from a billing address. Read those messages. Ask the model to draft a reply that only confirms the invoice was received. The send step pauses. A person sends it or stops the run.

Limits

These actions run with the account your workspace connects. Automated tests for this connector used mocked responses. CrewX24 has not published a separate certification that a production tenant was called.

The reader returns at most 20 messages per call. This is not a full Gmail client: it does not manage filters, labels as a separate product, or attachments as a documented action on this page.

Questions

Can the crew reply in the same thread?

Yes. Draft and send accept a message id. The reply stays on that thread.

Will it email my customers without me?

The send action waits for approval even when the crew is autonomous. A draft does not send.
