Telegram bot automation: triggers, actions, and a real limit

A bot workflow is only as fresh as Telegram’s update window. Build for messages that just arrived, and pause before the bot speaks.

What the connector can do

Read the latest messages sent to the bot, up to 100. Send a text message to a chat id or a public @channelusername, optionally as a reply to a message id. A new-message trigger can start the crew. There is no file upload and no payment action on this connector.

The 24-hour limit

Telegram keeps getUpdates results for about 24 hours. A crew that runs tomorrow will not see today’s unread message if it aged out. Trigger close to the message, or accept that late reads come back empty.

Approve the text

Send is external, so a person approves it even on an autonomous crew. That is the right default for a bot that might invent a policy. Keep the instructions short and tell the model to say it does not know.

Questions

Can I use a bot I do not own?

No. You connect the token for your bot. The public site never asks for it.
